After a first stage (2005-2008) where they were pioneers in the distribution of models and discs allowing free download via the Internet, the explosion of Els Amics de les Arts occurs in late 2009 with the publication of the album “Bed & Breakfast ”(Discmedi, 2009).
Their next work, “Espècies per catalogar” (Discmedi, 2012), places them at number 1 on iTunes in Spain and makes them rise directly to the fourth position on the list of best-selling albums in the entire state.
With more than 250 concerts behind them, the band has performed in venues, auditoriums and festivals such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Coliseum Theater, the Cap Roig Festival, the Grec, the BAM, the Porta Ferrada, or the Acoustic from Figueres. And he has played in Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia, Scotland and the main German cities.
His career has been distinguished with two Golden Records, several Enderrock Premises for Catalan Music, the Premi Altaveu, the Premi Arc 2012 for the best tour of theaters and auditoriums or the UFI Prize awarded by independent record labels.
They have recently released the CD-DVD “Tenim dret a fer l’animal” (Discmedi, 2012) recorded live in the Razzmatazz Hall during the final tour concert.
Els Amics de les Arts now publish their fourth work “Només d'entrar hi ha semper el dinosaure” (Only there is always the dinosaur) (Discmedi, 2014). With more than 80,000 copies sold of their previous albums, Els Amics put their own and non-transferable creative talent back to the service of pop. A group that goes beyond fashion and labels, and an album that no longer needs to be debated as to whether it is fresher, more restful or more vital.
“Només d'entrar hi ha semper el dinosaure” is simply the new step forward of a consolidated and constantly evolving band that simply publishes their best song collection.
