Originally released in 2001, this Compilation album includes 40 tracks of Angolan urban music produced between 1965 and 1975, and contains a 12 pages booklet with texts in English and French.
The Angolan urban music, which is often mistaken for its Brazilian homologue (the MPB, Music Popular Brazilian) due to the similarities of structures between the Angola semba and the Brazilian samba, and despite its lack of international relations, has written during the lively sixties and seventies some of the most beautiful chapters of its history.
While listening to this Anthology, you will be able somehow to recount one of the most important stages in the historic march of the Angolan artists, for the recognition of their musical art and culture.
Featuring tracks of Luiz Visconde, Artur Nunes, Os Kiezos Urbano de Castro, etc… originally only available on singles.
