The Catalan quartet Jazz Pretenders presents “Pretensions Elèctriques”, their second album, whose title is the best definition of the content. In this present time when jazz evolves, drinking in the sounds that have shaped its history, Jazz Pretenders penetrates the territories of fusion with success and originality, obtaining a result where electric jazz evokes passages of its past, without failing to provide contemporary elements that also look to the future of this merging sound. “Pretensions Elèctriques” proposes, by means of eight subjects written by saxophonist Jordi Blanch included on the album, a session of good music without prejudice and, therefore, open to everything that freely comes from this musical fusion”.
