With this new album -the ninth- El pont D’Arcalís they continue their sound journey through the Pyrenees, and this time they do so by approaching their work space. On the one hand, in the neighboring country of Andorra, and on the other, in Arsèguel, in Alt Urgell.
They also wanted to put into practice an old idea of the group: take old traditional melodies and put new contemporary channels. That is why they asked the writer and friend Albert Vilaró (Josep Pla Award 2014) to play with the traditional songs of the Principality of Andorra, writing new lyrics, in some cases replacing the originals, and in others interspersing the quartets. traditional with newly created stanzas that contextualize the text with a vision of today.
All this new record work has been recorded in Arsèguel, in the spaces of the Folk School of the Pyrenees, where they have their base of operations and where they rehearse regularly.
